How to Overcome Fears In The Middle Of Economic Crisis?

 Happy Life, Tips

How to Overcome Fears Amid Economic Crisis?

The economic crisis that originated from the United States and now swept rapidly across the world are very concerned about the majority of people. Many companies are out of business, not the least world-class companies, such as Northern Rock, Fannie Mae, and Lehman Brothers.

How should we behave to face this global economic crisis? I personally choose not to spend my energy to think about it too deeply. I realized that if I focused on fear or concern me, then I will feel far more profound. I would rather focus my energy on things that can increase the productivity of yourself.

Before I share to you how we should behave, there are two things to note:
First, know that there are many things beyond our power, I mean we can not do anything to change that, for example, just: the weather, the past, other people and the economic situation. Usually, worry or fear arises because we are thinking about these things. Try to remember again the last incident that makes you feel worried. Whether the event beyond your control?
Second, know that we always have a choice, I emphasize once again here: we always have a choice. We may feel we have no choice, but it is actually happening is that we do not want to face a choice because it is usually a factor of self-esteem or does not want to suffer.

Well, here are some tips on how we should behave:

1. Focus on the things you can control

Know that your mind and body is something you can control. You can choose to focus your energy on things that are more useful to you, for example, you can choose to think more about your health than just the stress of thinking about worsening economic conditions.

2. Reduce consuming news

I do not mean to say that reading the newspaper or watching the news on TV is not important. I mean this, you try to remember the last time you read or watch the news to lift your spirits or tell stories about peace. According to my experience rarely happens, especially the news was put on the front page, it is unlikely because such news is not 'sell'. News 'sell' is a message that contains a conflict, war, gossip, suffering, and fear because that's the kind of news that can quickly affect our emotions. Mass media companies must undertake such a strategy, because that's resale value, otherwise they will go bankrupt.
Reduce your consumption of news is very important to keep us from worry and fear. I myself have been reducing read newspapers and watch TV, just focus on matters related to my work and entertainment (humor).

3. Thankful

Try to think of this question. What is the most important thing in your life? For whatever things you are grateful? Anyone who you love? Even better you can write it down on paper, close your eyes and imagine the answer. Feel the feelings of gratitude. Do this on a regular basis.
Any suggestions would be much better if you can be grateful for the things that are immaterial. I am personally aware that non-material things far more important than the material, such as health and relationships, because if I lose material but with health and good relationships, I can grab it back.

4. Stop spreading worries or fears

Purpose inscription above is stop complaining about the difficult economy, stop spreading the word about the crisis on your friends and stop talking about the crisis. Start doing the actions that you have control. Suppose your basic needs are being threatened at this time (such as losing a job or a place to stay), take immediate action and massive, like sending your resume to many companies, call your friends to ask for a job, searching on the internet for jobs, jobs. Anyway, whatever you can do, do it all at once and never give up.

5. Everything will turn to its origin

You are not alone. All face the same problem. History has proven that everything will turn to the origin, such as the economic crisis Indonesia in 1997. Indonesia's economy is now much better than before 1997. Although still the world economic crisis continues to be felt in our country. I am personally optimistic that this crisis will be successfully passed. All we can do now is survive and take all necessary measures, such as tightening spending, increase labor productivity and so on.

6. Strengthen your assets

In connection with the things we can control as I have explained above, the current crisis is the best time we improve ourselves. Look at all the things we can learn to add capabilities (skills) us. Never stop learning. Trust me when this crisis is over, you will be better prepared to face the challenges ahead.

7. Set up a reserve fund

For those of you who are not currently being fought to meet your basic needs, prioritize to have a reserve fund. Not that because we are currently in a crisis, is not essential to form a reserve fund. Preparation stays should we do to face all possibilities after the crisis passed. Palakkad saving habits we have throughout our lives. Trust me you will reap the rewards someday.

8. Focus on things that benefit you

Do not focus on the negative things that happen to you like pay cuts, did not get a bonus, sales turnover decreased etc. Focus on things that can benefit you, like for example:
- Gasoline prices are down
- A low stock price
I myself am not a player stocks, I just want to share from the article I read Warren Buffet. He said that now is a good time to buy stocks. Hopefully useful.
- Reduce consumption and a walk would have the effect of mental improve our wasteful. :)

9. Choose to be happy

Choose to be happy does not mean we do not care about the problems around us or force a smile on our face, but we focus on the wonderful things that can give us pleasure, make us smile and grateful for this life, for example: you can play around with your child, go hiking, fishing etc. You can also read my previous article: 9 tips for a happier life.
Know that every day we are surrounded by things that can make us happy. As well as fears and worries, enjoy the happiness is a choice. Which would you choose? Concerns or happiness?
